Since graduation, she’s been touring up and down the West Coast as well as parts of London and Nashville, releasing music under her artist name MEGG, appeared on NBC’s The Voice and teaches private voice and piano lessons. She recently released her newest single, “On My Shoulders” following the release of her EP, Here For Now and signed a Publishing Deal with Reel Muzik Werks last year. Born and raised in Redondo Beach, MEGG is no stranger to the local music scene. She has opened for Tomorrow’s Bad Seeds, Hot Water Music and The Used…to name a few. As a frequent performer at our local venues, she feels passionate about bringing the diverse music scenes the South Bay has to offer under one roof to support a local cause near and dear to her heart. From the age of nine he would run around with his dad’s camcorder, filming his friends skateboarding, going surfing, doing pranks, and skits with his friends, trying to emulate the things he saw on MTV. By the age of 15 he was already working on set, assisting for campaigns, editorials, and celebrity photo shoots until he went to College at UCSD. This is where he began to photograph parties, concerts, and snowboarding events for the USCSA. After college, he moved back to Redondo Beach and shot BTS for Access Hollywood while at night shooting comedy shows all around Los Angeles. From there he moved into portraiture and lifestyle photography. He shoots regularly with a team of Musicians and Artists at Ten Times Talent and lives with his wife in Silverlake with his dog Charlie. I was instantly captivated by the culture and astounding differences from New York that this place had to offer, and I settled into “the beach life,” very easily. I joined The Marines after graduating from Peninsula High School in 2000 and spent most of my five-year enlistment overseas. After being discharged from The Marines, I settled in Redondo Beach in an apartment with some friends. It was then that I met Adam Walker at Knob Hill on the volleyball courts and would soon after, meet Christy. Adam and I have been friends since then (about 2006), and I am closer with his family now more than ever. I lived across the street from Adam and Christy when they brought little Lexi home and I sold them their first home in Temecula, which is when I really got to know Lexi and see how amazing she really is. Always smiling, always dancing, and always bringing smiles to the faces of everyone she met, Lexi embodied everything that we should all strive to be. I was honored when Adam and Christy asked me to be on the board of the Love Like Lexi Foundation and I am looking forward to watching it grow and help all the children suffering from this terrible disease. As her body was going through harsh treatments and trauma, Lexi's spirit never waned and she inspired us all with her love, strength and humor throughout. Lexi shared her love freely and changed the lives of everyone she met. Her triumph and legacy can be found in a new therapy that has the potential to bring breakthrough and save the lives of future kids in her shoes - she initiated a brand new treatment option and new research for relapsed neuroblastoma. We keep her memory alive and continue her legacy by fighting cancer with the power of love and choosing to love like Lexi today and every day. The Love Like Lexi foundation supports the promising research of Child Oncologist, Dr. Shahab Asgharzadeh, a physician scientist and the principal investigator of the Asgharzadeh Laboratory at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
